Research Interests

I am interested in whether marine larvae choose their environment based on organism-specific genetic code. Specifically, at what stage do oyster larvae respond to salinity changes and how they are able to choose settlement spots for highest fitness. Delaware Bay has a well-managed oyster fishery and this information can be used to predict which beds will be most resilient to salinity changes in the face of climate change.
